The City of Plymouth, a rural community of about 1,000 in Amador County, is conducting a search for an experienced public sector manager with a passion for local government and public service.  The City Manager is appointed by the City Council and is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City; and assists the City Council in development of public policy, and provides oversight for all municipal services:


  • Public Safety Contracts
  • Public Works including Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Parks and Streets
  • Water and Sewer Utilities Billing
  • Planning and Building Safety
  • Finance and Grant Administration
  • Employee Relations


To be competitive, at least five (5) years of progressively responsible public sector management experience in a comparable agency, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration or closely related field.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
